After the experience of the Partial Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on October 25, we come to the Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus-Scorpio.
Total Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in Taurus conjunct Uranus – November 8, 2022
The Sun (16º) in Scorpio conjunct Mercury (15º 52′), Venus (20º 13′) and the North Node (13º 24′) of the Moon in opposition to the Moon in Taurus (16º) conjunct Uranus (16º 56′) and the North Node of the Moon all in a T-square with Saturn at 18º Aquarius.
Wow, what does this all mean? Well, every T-Square with Saturn on the cusp, which is the planet that forms the squares to the other planets, speaks of some annoyance. The urgency to act and the eventual encounter with certain obstacles and limitations that serve as a reminder of our humanity.
Quadrature between Saturn and Uranus
Let’s just say that this eclipse rekindles the Saturn-Uranus square that has been manifesting globally for over a year now and has forced us all to face the reality that we can’t always get our way because Uranus is the planet conjunct the Moon in this instance.
The status quo is strong and if I try to break the rules – whatever they may be – “something” will step in and stop me or serve as a constant reminder that I am part of this social system and can’t always do as I please.
This archetype, which has been active for thousands of years, is that there are some social laws that I cannot deny and that are also necessary so that chaos does not ensue. It is awakened by the quadrature between these two planets, Father (Uranus) and Son (Saturn).
In addition, it has awakened and sharpened the paranoia that the system manipulates us, spies on us and uses us as tools for a conglomerate of elites to carry out its will. While there is some truth to this, it is also true that the degree of paranoia it induces depends on how this reality is perceived.
Can algorithms and our smartphones control us? Yes, but it is not necessary to have a cell phone. Every game has rules that must be followed. But there is no requirement to participate.
Fixed sign eclipses have historically gotten a lot of negative press. In fact, many earthquakes and tsunamis have coincided with fixed sign eclipses and several wars have started during those times.
Full Moon lunar eclipse in Scorpio
However, there is no need to be alarmed because on May 16, 2022, there was a Full Moon lunar eclipse in Scorpio, which means we have already had an eclipse this year in the Taurus-Scorpio angularity. What was going on in your life at the time? Do you still remember it?
Allow me to elaborate a bit….
Taurus, ruled by the undisputed Goddess of Beauty, Seduction and Desire, speaks of all that attracts us, including both people and objects such as clothes, houses, jewelry and money that give us a sense of security and facilitate seduction and attraction.
It also refers to our skills and abilities to put food on the table. Taurus wonders, “How am I going to live and sustain myself on this planet?”.
Scorpio, on the other hand, reveals that there is more to everything and that not all that glitters is gold. Profits and losses, other people’s property, inherited possessions, banks, credit and even powerful sexual desires are all factors.
Above all, Scorpio is like a cesspool whose bottom is hard to see. It conveys to us information about family histories, especially those relating to sexuality, money, investments and related secrets, as well as death, to top it all off.
Taurus-Scorpio Angle
These eclipses occurred in this Taurus-Scorpio angle both this year and in 2021. We experienced a full Moon in Taurus with an eclipse on Friday, November 19, 2021.
The Lunar Nodes were in Gemini-Sagittarius at that time, just before moving into Taurus-Scorpio, where they would remain until July 18, 2023, before moving into the Aries-Libra angle, which they would travel through until January 2025.
Both of these eclipses’ effects that we are currently experiencing may come to an end around the April and May 2023 eclipses, which will also be in the Taurus-Scorpio angle. The fact that Lilith is in opposition to Pluto and in square to Eris adds additional tension to the upcoming lunar eclipse.
Right-wing and anti-immigration trends that are thriving in Europe and will also manifest in Israel with the return of Benjamin Netanyahu and the far-right coalition, with which he will have to partner if he wants to form a government, as happened in Italy, can cause big and lurid situations with minorities all over the world.
Eris is the one who correlates with the marginalized, the abandoned and the refugees, while Lilith is anti-system and anti-patriarchy.
Mars retrograde in the sign of Gemini
Given that this eclipse occurs as Mars moves retrograde in the sign of Gemini, which is associated with communication and rhetoric and Pluto, contrary to all my principles, I can only imagine a rather nasty and violent scenario.
To top it off, this is occurring at a time when the right wing is pushing anti-abortion, anti-immigrant, etc., laws in the United States. This refers to the conflict between Matriarchy, which is resurgent and Patriarchy, which is in the process of extinction and transformation.
The latest attempt by nationalisms to defend the impossible, since there is no way to stop human migration from one continent to another or from one country to another. It can no longer be done.
Survival is the most fundamental human instinct; if I cannot survive in the place where I was born, I will have to move somewhere where I can.
Inanna’s Descent to the Underworld
The myth I would like to revisit with this combination is Inanna’s descent into the underworld to rescue her sister (or so she believes), where she meets her own death. As always, there are myths that come alive with these combinations.
A goddess journeys into the depths of our psyche, as they do in the tale of Persephone and Hades. However, the nectar that gives them immortality and allows them to resurrect is found there, where they encounter their own shadow and inner power.
Inanna must strip herself of all her material possessions in order to pass through the seven portals that her sister Ereshkigal (goddess of the underworld) has arranged for her to enter the depths. At each of the portals along the way, he must detach or divest himself of an “I”.
The “I’s,” or all of our social ties that “preordain” our behavior and beliefs, are preordained decrees of the gods that sustain the social institutions.
Her crown, her earrings, the pearls of her necklace, her tunic, the golden breastplate or harness, the golden ring and her queen’s scepter are some of the “I’s”, which in English would mean the “different “I’s”.
She has already been stripped of everything that would have given her the social position of Queen in the last portal, leaving her completely naked. She appears as a normal person.
I will not go into details because you can read the full story on the internet, but I would like to propose that for this epochal journey, we travel to the underworld consciously (as far as possible), freeing ourselves from our emotions, beliefs, political parties, social status, university degrees, religion, etc., to reencounter the Wise Goddess that resides in our psyche and surrender willingly to total transformation, breaking paradigms and surrendering
Patriarchy based on domination and absolute power must give way to collaboration and cooperation, as suggested by Pachamama, where we are all interdependent on each other and where the individual is valued but at the service of others, according to the ancestral knowledge of the Goddess and Nature.
To live in a more equitable and just world, we must also respect the Feminine and her wisdom. When we are honest about what we need and don’t need, this important journey into the underworld of the Goddess can improve our relationships.
We realize our worth and our personal power, which we all possess, we can “let go” of people and circumstances that no longer bring us anything spiritual or worthwhile in our lives. We feel powerless, we become entangled in destructive relationships that drag us down.
However, we must embark on this journey and this eclipse opens the door to the possibility of doing so, if we want to work with the sacred masculine and feminine, which support and collaborate with each other without competition or desire for dominance.
This T-square in fixed signs directs us towards the polarity point of Saturn, which in this case is in Leo and conjuncts the North Node of Neptune.
Through this aspect we are urged to return to the ocean, to the depths of the life source of the sea and, more importantly, to our creativity, or what I like to refer to as our “inner diamond,” which transforms a drop of water into an ocean.
Happy Lunar Eclipse to all and keep in mind that change is a constant as long as we are alive. We continue to discover new ways of Being as the static dissipates. We continue to evolve, we hope.
